Highlights of Solar and Geomagnetic Activity
04 - 10 April 2022

Solar activity was at low levels through the period with numerous
C-class flares observed. Rgn 2978 (S19, L=3D011, class/area Eko/670 on
30 Mar) produced a majority of the C-class activity with the largest
event a C4 observed at 10/0241 UTC. Additional C-class activity was
observed from Rgns 2967 (N20, L=3D075, class/area Eho/530 on 26 Mar),
2979 (S22, L=3D030, class/area Azz/030 on 29 Mar), 2982 (S20, L=3D334,
class/area Bxo/040 on 04 Apr), 2983 (N20, L=3D328, class/area Hsx/040
on 02 Apr) and 2985 (S20, L=3D289, class/area Hax/050 on 05 Apr).
During the period, numerous filament eruptions were observed on 03,
04 and 07 Apr that impacted Earth on 06-10 Apr. More details below.

No proton events were observed at geosynchronous orbit.

The greater than 2 MeV electron flux at geosynchronous orbit was at
high levels on 04-07 Apr with a peak flux of 3,920 pfu observed on
04 Apr. Low to moderate levels were observed on 08-10 Apr.

News March 2022

Solar activity is low to average and number of regions= are slowly increasing. The CV 13-rot. centered averages
are now considerably higher than for solar cycle 24 at the same time of progress = from minimum!
The CV-Int. 13-rot. avrgs. is now ahead with 50,8 percent (!) compared to same date i= n cycle 24 (16.02.11)!
Sunspot region production at Month 26 is still good. A total of 237 regions this cycle p= er mid April 2022.
At the same time solar cycle produced 162 regions.

We reckon there have passed 884 days of the new cycle by this issue.
The prospects for a solar cycle much higher than no. 24 certainly is good!

Solar Max.: Our latest prediction to occur late July 2025, earliest possibility April 202= 5.
Solar Flux onset expected late this year.  Th= e P-Index, rise/fall data from solar flux,
The predicted great activity in January 2022 and until March 2022 proved right.
Stay tuned and observe the solar disk from now on!

Please remember you are always welcome to contribute with drawings and photos!

Preliminary total number for year 2021 is 7327 CV-observations from 49 observers! Tha= nks to all of you!

Highlights of Solar and Geomagnetic Activity
03 - 09 April 2023 http://services.swpc.noaa.gov/text/weekly.txt

Solar activity was at low to moderate levels. Low levels were
observed on 03-05, 07, and 09 Apr while moderate levels were
observed on 06 and 08 Apr. Region 3272 (S21, L=102, class/area
Eai/280 on 09 Apr) was responsible for the majority of the C-class
activity since its emergence on 05 Apr. The region also produced M3
and M2/1n flares at 06/0553 UTC and 08/0146 UTC, respectively. Other
activity included a CME off the SW limb first observed at 07/1336
UTC that was associated with a filament eruption seen in SDO/AIA 304
imagery beginning at 07/0829 UTC centered near S27W10. Modelling
indicated a miss, however a glancing blow could not be ruled out
early on 12 Apr.

No proton events were observed at geosynchronous orbit.

Solar activity is expected to be low with a chance for moderate
levels (R1-R2, Minor-Moderate) on 10-25 Apr and again from 02-06 May
due to flare potential of Region 3272 and the return of old Region
3256 (S22, L=001) on 12 Apr. Very low to low levels are expected on
26 Apr-01 May.

No proton events are expected at geosynchronous orbit.
