SOLAR ALERT - CME EXPECTED
HELIOSYNOPTICS, BOULDER, COLORADO
LARGE CME EXPECTED FROM CENTRAL MERIDIAN
EMERGING BIPOLE AT END OF DARK EMBEDDED FILAMENT
IN REGION 8525 EXPECTED TO CAUSE FILAMENT ERUPTION AND CME.
THIS IS THE SAME REGION THAT PRODUCED M5/CME ON MAY 03.
ACCOMPANYING X-RAY FLARE EXPECTED M3 OR LESS DUE TO WEAKER MAGNETIC
FIELDS THAN ON MAY 03.
CME WILL EXPAND DIRECTLY TOWARD EARTH.
STRONG GEOMAGNETIC DISTURBANCE EXPECTED
THREE DAYS AFTER THE CME.

Region 8340 at N20 E02 (16 22UT 9/23) has developed a
delta configuration
with a substantial satellite dipole of opposite polarity. This dipole erupted
9/22 and produced an M8 event. However flux emergence has ceased at that point
and we bon't expect large activity, possibly one or two M events.
There is some other flux emergence in the group which should give smaller events
